It has been more than four years since the beginning of our shared journey.
REBUILD has not only been a cooperation initiative, but a transformative experience that has left a deep mark, both at the institutional and personal levels.
Thanks to the opportunity offered by the European Union, we have been able to tell and listen to our territories, building lasting relationships with new partners in local and international territorial development.
Over these years, REBUILD has represented a laboratory of innovation, openness, and experimentation, but also a complex collective challenge.
We have faced the pandemic, instability, and operational difficulties related to the Libyan context, finding effective responses together. However, the most significant challenge turned out to be the administrative and financial management, which transformed into a valuable opportunity for growth and learning.
For us, REBUILD also meant confronting some rigidities in our administrative apparatus – among the most solid in Europe – but not always ready to face global challenges.
It has been a testing ground for the development of key skills: from managing intercultural contexts, to problem-solving, to strengthening those soft skills essential for working in complex teams.
We have acted with passion and dedication, tackled obstacles with creativity, and experimented with new forms of hospitality and welcome that have enriched us both as individuals and as a group.
One of the most significant transformations has taken place in the way we think and act: we have shifted from a “decentralized cooperation” approach, where the Autonomous Province of Trento played the role of donor, to a relational model in which PAT has become a coalition actor, a central subject capable of bringing together and coordinating different stakeholders towards common goals.
A not easy, but crucial transition for the success of the project.
Every challenge became lighter thanks to the strength of teamwork, and every shared result brought us even greater satisfaction.
We want to emphasize the importance of selfless collaboration, which is not based on personal gain, but on the creation of collective value and knowledge.
This is the spirit that has fueled our “community of practice,” where trust has overcome mistrust.
Today, we can look back with pride at the journey we have made and look ahead to future challenges.
REBUILD has opened new spaces for collaboration and left behind a legacy of experiences, skills, and relationships: a valuable asset to be further developed in new forms of cooperation.
A heartfelt thanks to each of you for the commitment, dedication, and positive atmosphere we have built together: this, more than anything else, is our most significant achievement.
The staff of the Autonomous Province of Trento
