Thematic modules and implementation schedule
The material of each training cycle is mainly of a content type, but always accompanied by methodological support.
Training structure
The project foresees 6 training cycles (each one lasting six months). An introductory module (Module 0) was added to explain how it works, and to introduce the idea of Territorial Approach to Local Development with a reference to the case study of the Autonomous Province of Trento in terms of local development.
The scheme of each cycle is composed by two phases:
- TRAINING OF TRAINERS: specific for the Universities, is articulated in two parts based on a blended methodology, one e-learning session and one in-presence.
2. TRAINING TO MUNICIPALITIES: specific for the Municipalities’ staff. In-presence training is delivered by university trainers who were involved in the first phase of the cycle.
The REBUILD E-learning Platform is a Moodle-based dedicated platform. Its address is: https://elearning.libyarebuild.eu.
The platform is the place where all the e-learning training activities of the project are developed. Each training module, depending on the type of contents and its training objectives, may combine a range of different activities, for instance: video-lessons, reading texts, questionnaires, etc.
E-learning is a versatile education tool that offers interesting opportunities (and a number of risks). If well implemented, e-learning can help to expand and enhance the ability of an organization to deliver innovative quality training.
REBUILD training curriculum intends to support the 10 Libyan partner municipalities in addressing Goal 11 of the 2030 Agenda (SDG 11): Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. The training is expected to build competences in improving local governance, urban planning, development strategies and service delivery.
The training curriculum is based on the Territorial Approach to Local Development (TALD) and adopts a pedagogy based on the model of the Participatory Experiential Learning.
Participants
The participants to the TRAINING OF TRAINERS, both the e-learning and in-presence sections, will be university staff.
The participants of the TRAINING TO MUNICIPALITIES are Municipality staff selected according to the contents of the training and the specific needs of the local authorities.
