First of all, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the efforts made by Libyan universities as houses/hubs of expertise that have played the most prominent role in providing the necessary support to local administration units (municipalities).
The 10 Libyan partner universities of the REBUILD project are relevant allies in strengthening the capacities of Libyan municipalities’ staff, therefore supporting decentralisation in Libya. During the implementation of REBUILD, they have been delivering to municipalities tailor-made training based on local needs jointly discussed and defined by adopting a multilevel governance approach. This key role can be sustained as well in the future, beyond the project duration. For this purpose, REBUILD has supported the purchase of equipment (furniture and/or devices such as tables, chairs, projectors, displays and so on) for the implementation of the training and promoted events and publications for its partnering universities to further encourage the continuation of this essential partnership between Libyan universities and municipalities. This project’s component has been successfully achieved also thanks to the efficiency and commitment of SBR Investors Services Company, REBUILD‘s technical and logistical partner.
